Creating communities for the 21st century and beyond
To me, cars are emblematic of what's wrong with our society. Despite the fact that most people have cars, they are inherently elitist -- in a world of 6.5 billion people, only a minority can own cars. Everyone wants to be a equestrian, but so many horses (or cars) inevitably produce too much s**t. Even in relatively enlightened SF, Prop E, the parking tax measure got voted down. There's clearly a lot of educating and mind-changing that needs to happen.
We should all just look at our own sense of entitlement to get an idea of how elitist car ownership is.
